For the first time, the Blackwood Kiwanis Little League, in conjunction with Diamond Sports Academy, will be offering a
Summer Baseball Camp. There will be two sessions offered. The first session will run from Monday, August 1 through Friday, August 5. The second session will run from Monday, August 8 through Friday, August 12.
The camp is for boys and girls, ages 5 - 16. There are two options for the camp. Players may attend half-day camp from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM or stay the entire day from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Check-in time for the camp will be at 8:00 AM. In case of inclement weather, the camp will be held in the Highland High School Gymnasium. The camp's time for any rain day will be from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM due to the availability of the gymnasium.
We are extremely fortunate to have from the University of the Sciences, Head Coach, Frank Angeloni and Pitching Coach, Bill Lodhamm join us. Coach Angeloni was voted the 2011 Coach of the Year for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. Their abundant baseball knowledge and expertise will be a valuable experience for all those attending the camp.
The itinerary for the camp includes:
Morning Session - focus on the core baseball fundamentals of hitting, throwing and fielding
Afternoon Session - focus on mental aspects of baseball, position specific skills training, and applying knowledge learned through skills competition and scrimmage games.
The price of the camp is $100 per week for morning session only or $175 per week for the entire day. Please see the attached flyer for details.
We will be holding an in-person registration on Wednesday, July 27 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Blackwood Kiwanis Little League clubhouse. However, to reserve your child's spot, please fax the
attached flyer to (856) 227-2645 as soon as possible.
We are only accepting 30 players from each group to keep a low instructor to player ratio. Age groups are based upon how old the child will be as of April 30, 2012 and will be broken down as follows: 5 - 6, 7 - 9, 10 - 12, and 13 - 16.
