Dear BKLL Families,
I want to provide a quick update on the status of the spring 2020 Little League baseball and softball season. I want to be sure you are all receiving accurate information regarding the state of Little League and especially Blackwood Kiwanis Little League.
I received another update earlier this week that Little League International is strongly advising all leagues to suspend activities until no earlier than May 11th. Little League is exploring all possible scenarios regarding the 2020 season. Little league will continue to provide updates and guidance regarding the spring season.
With that said, I want to be very clear that BKLL has not cancelled the season. BKLL will continue to follow Little League’s guidance and suggestions. My number one priority continues to be the safety and well-being of our baseball family. I understand we all want to get back on the fields as quickly as possible, but we need to exercise patience and responsibility during these challenging times. The BKLL Board of Directors has had many discussions regarding all possible scenarios for this 2020 spring season. If a spring season is possible, we feel it is our responsibility to bring baseball, softball, and T-Ball to our children and families.
Once I receive any further updates, I will be sure to pass them along. I continue to urge you all to throw the ball around your backyards and practice as a family.
